Camp's Bay history: uncover the backstory

The area was originally named "Die Baai Van Von Kamptz" after a German sailor in 1778. He married a wealthy widow by the name of Anna Wernich and went to work expanding upon her farm Ravensteyn. It later became Camps Bay as it prospered and grew into the affluent neighbourhood it is today.
