Rookies property market often leave industry

Category Property News

For Yael Geffen of Lew Geffen Sotheby's, the ongoing squabbling of politicians within and between parties is "destabilising the industry and the country as a whole".

"Draconian over-regulation of the real estate industry is discouraging many people from joining (the industry).

"There has especially been a big drop in the number of divorced women who are attracted by the flexible hours which allow them to still care for their families.

"However, as they are often the breadwinners for their families, they cannot afford to be on minimum earnings for two years. It also makes it harder to retain good rookies when they find it difficult to support themselves."
