The annual Debbie Longhurst Golf Day to raise funds for the Port Alfred SPCA took place last Friday at the Royal Port Alfred Golf Club. Lew Geffen Sotheby's was the main sponsor at this prestigious event and it was also well supported by other sponsors as well as the public. The prize giving at the RPAGC on Friday coincided with the golf club's steak evening and so, as players left, they were replaced by hungry residents looking forward to an evening of fun. At the prize giving prizes were awarded to the first 12 teams consisting of four players each. In third place was the covey of Steve Kennedy, Nick Oosthizen, Barrie Brady and Martin Lamprecht on 88, in second place was Gavin Richards, Derek and Heather Harmelen, and Jimmy van Rensburg with a score of 89.
